Terry Wang
Special guest
Tofus is a 20-year old Taiwanese UX designer at National Taiwan University, with a passion for civic technology and open-source projects. Having started their journey at 17 with Taiwan's g0v community, Tofus has been dedicated to using design as a bridge between complex technological solutions and citizen needs. During his gap year this year, supported by Jamie's Gapyear Program, he is going to focus on deepening their understanding of design in open-source environments and civic tech initiatives. However, shortly after the start of his gap year, Tofus encountered some challenges within the g0v community, leading them to pause his planned projects there. Shifting focus, he began contributing to various open-source projects while also co-funding a café in downtown Taipei with a friend, using savings from his previous work as a UX designer at National Taiwan University. The café is designed to cater to digital nomads, allowing Tofus to explore new directions in his design practice.
